This is about 45 minutes of acrylic paint on a 19 cent wooden cutout from Michaels.
It is incredibly difficult to paint a skinny, straight line! Either the paint craps out before you get to the end or you look away for one second and boom- you’ve painted just enough into the color block next to the line that you have to frantically go for the water and the Viva. (Break for what sounds like a commercial.) That Viva is the bomb! Really, you could probably make a dress out of it if you were even halfway committed to it. Consider the gauntlet thrown! Anywho, I learned a few things: 1) make shorter lines and 2) the name of the blog is willing to make bad art. Don’t stress about your fat brown lines! How many brown lines have I painted in my life, you ask? As many as there are on tonight’s project. I console myself with the fact that if my passion in life was painting skinny straight lines and I devoted the 10,000 hours it takes to master anything, I could master brown lines. But, this isn’t about that. It’s about doing something besides spacing out on the internet until I am sure my children are asleep.
